Best Practice Surgical Gynaecology
Dr Basheer graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1990. She trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Adelaide, Oxford and Nottingham and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2001. Dr Basheer was selected as the first Laparoscopic Fellow at Flinders Medical Centre and, as such, was the first gynaecologist trained in advanced laparoscopic (key-hole) surgery in Adelaide. She has done additional training in fertility and endocrinology and has worked as a Fertility Specialist at Flinders Fertility.
Throughout her career, Dr Basheer has enhanced her skills and knowledge to ensure continued best practice. She is a member of the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society, the Australian Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, the Australian and New Zealand Vulvovaginal Society, the Australasian Menopause Society, the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine, the Fertility Society of Australia and the Australian Medical Association.
Dr Basheer consults from her private Rooms at Attunga Gynaecology in Toorak Gardens. She is a visiting specialist at Burnside and St. Andrews Hospitals. She is Chair of Burnside Hospital Peri-operative Committee and a Member of the Burnside Hospital Medical Executive Committee.
